Dear readers,
Our TCORS 2.0 - CAsToR DAD Core created this bulletin to keep you updated on the latest data and resources available through the DAD.
What's new?
National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS) harmonized datasets.
 
The DAD core is happy to announce the availability of NYTS 2014-2022 harmonized datasets.
 
The NYTS provides nationally representative tobacco-related data about middle and high school youth’s:

The DAD team derived additional variables including:

Ever use indicators by tobacco product type: combustibles, smokeless tobacco, and e-cigarettes.
 
Frequency of use:
  • Categorized as infrequent, moderate, or frequent
  • In the past 30 days
Exclusive and multi-product use indicators among ever and past 30-day use.
In case you missed it...
Weighted Multistate Markov (WMSM) model V.1.2

Dr. Brouwer developed a weighted multistate transition model to estimate underlying transition rates between tobacco use states from longitudinal data on individuals with complex survey designs and sample weights.
This function was designed for use with data from the PATH Study, but it can be used for any longitudinal survey of individuals where weights need to be accounted for.
Now available version 1.2:
This version includes two important updates to the WMSM function:
1) the ability to apply covariates to only specific transitions and
2) the ability to estimate a hazard ratio for continuous covariates.
