Welcome!
The TCORS 3.0 - CAsToR Data Analysis and Modeling Core (DAM)
created this bulletin to keep you updated on the latest data and
resources available through the DAM.
What's new?
New PATH dataset (Wave 8 restricted data)
The DAM core has recently made new and updated restricted datasets available. Based on the latest PATH Study’s Wave 8 Data, these datasets include DAM-derived variables for youth and adults.
These datasets may be accessed through our project on the NAHDAP Virtual Data Enclave if you are an approved user. If you're
interested in using this data or would like to know about other
available data, please visit the DAM Core Data Request website:
The
datasets above include all core DAM-derived variables, except the
product use intensity variables, which are being processed as you read.
When will Wave 8 public data be available?
Currently,
the NIDA website says that PATH Wave 8 public data release is planned
for Summer 2026, but we anticipate that released to be delayed until
Fall 2026. We will update the center as we hear more information.
Highlights from PATH Wave 8
New variables for oral nicotine pouches
We have more complete information about the use of oral nicotine pouches among youth and adults:
Regular use
Number of days used in the past 30 days
Intensity of use
Every day/ some days use
Flavors
Nicotine’s concentration level
New products
At Wave 8, respondents were asked about the use of modified risk tobacco products (MRTP’s).
The questionnaire included questions on ‘ever’ and ‘past 30 days’ use of
brands of cigarettes, snus, and snuff tobacco products that the FDA has
authorized as having lower risk or reduced exposure to harmful
chemicals than some other tobacco products.
Coming soon...
The National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) 2025 has released early estimates. We will send a new announcement when the full data are released and available.
