Through the CAsToR’s Career Enhancement Core (CEC),  six Junior Investigators were funded for the 2026-2027 funding period, totaling over $130,000.

To date, CAsToR has funded 38 pilot projects led by graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-stage investigators. Additional details regarding current and past pilot projects can be found on our CAsToR website here

Post Doctoral Associate at Rutgers University (Job opening)
 
Rutgers is seeking a Post Doctoral Associate for the Institute for Nicotine and Tobacco Studies (INTS), located in New Brunswick, NJ. Under the direction of Institute Faculty member Dr. Jamie Tam, the Post Doctoral Associate will support and conduct simulation modeling research related to tobacco and lung cancer prevention and control.

Michigan Public Health Launches Master of Science Degree in Computational Epidemiology and Systems Modeling

In this program, students are trained to become highly skilled epidemiologists who can understand and analyze public health problems with mathematical and statistical models. 

Epidemiological models and simulation-based analyses are increasingly used to inform public health policy and practice. Notably, throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, government agencies, policy-makers and others have used epidemiological models to help inform decision-making and slow the spread of the virus.
